My Dads 40th day after his passing was this past Sunday. It is believed that the soul of the departed remains wandering the earth, visiting places they lived and their fresh grave.
I was waiting for a visit from my Dad and went 40 days without a sign. Others were telling me stories they had of possible visits from Dad, but mine never came.
At the rosary prayer for my Dad on his 40th day, I noticed a small butterfly aimlessly flying around my family as we prayed. I thought nothing of it. As we were wrapping up the prayer, we decided to release some balloons in memory of Dad. As I began taking the photo of the balloons, the small butterfly landed on my phone and sat there a few seconds before flying away. Instead of flying away the butterfly decided to hang around a bit and this image was accidentally captured.
I’m not one to usually believe in things like this. For all I know it’s just a coincidence that this butterfly was there and was captured by lens. I’d like to think that Dad finally paid me a final visit. (at All Souls Cemetery and Mausoleum)
